Testimonials

Last Chance Dog by Donna Kelleher, DVM"I refer my behavior challenges as well as my difficult cancer cases to Lori Stevens. She is a gifted healer and has a grounding, calming demeanor and a unique ability to get out of the way and allow the Reiki and TTouch to heal!"

Paka"Lori has an amazing gift of working with our 4-legged friends. Our cat, Paka, thrived under her healing touch for many months past his Lymphosarcoma prognosis. Not only were the Reiki, TTouch and Flower Essence therapies gentle for him, he loved the work. Lori has also been an amazing source of support and guidance for us, in helping us to live more fully and joyfully with our cat during his illness."

Sarah"My 12-year-old Labrador mix, Sarah, has been seeing Lori as part of an integrated approach to dealing with cancer and advanced arthritis issues.

Lori's combination of Tellington TTouch and Reiki has worked wonders on helping Sarah with body awareness and neurological defects. Although Sarah's type of cancer is particularly aggressive, it has not worsened in the six months since diagnosis. We appreciate Lori's dedication (she always sends a follow-up e-mail after treatment to check in), and you cannot help but feel her genuine compassion and care for her clients and their humans. Thank you, Lori!"

Cleo"Cleo could hardly stand, let alone walk, and was diagnosed with a herniated disk; given her age and Cushings Disease, she never would have survived surgery. Lori's hands just listen to what an animal needs; within a few treatments, Cleo was back to walking a mile a day and hasn't stopped. Now I count every day with her as a blessing, and thank Lori for her part in giving that gift to me."

Cassie"My dog Cassie, a chow mix, is an older dog in terrific health except for two things: (1) she has a slow-growing, inoperable tumor, and (2) her hind legs have weakened with age, so she sometimes stumbles and has difficulty climbing up and down.

A good friend with old-dog experience urged me to see Lori. I trusted my friend and went to Lori in good faith and with an open mind, but frankly I was skeptical about what this might accomplish.

On our first visit, Cassie at first did lots of panting and pacing. However, after Lori worked with her for some time, focusing on the area of the tumor, I was astonished to see my dog suddenly and utterly relax. I remember most that her wild, rough coat also relaxed and became soft and shiny before my eyes. After that, we returned for several successive weeks. On the one hand, this seemed an extravagance, but each time I saw a a visible, positive, and sustained change in Cassie's energy, agility, and engagement with her world. After Lori worked on Cassie's legs, her stability immediately and significantly improved: she went from scrabbling and lumbering to get into the back seat of the car to jumping in easily.

I think that visiting Lori for multiple sessions early on was much more effective than if we had come intermittently over a longer time. Not only did Cassie get used to going to Lori's workplace, but she steadily improved over the course of these sessions until she reached a plateau that I was entirely satisfied with. Now we still come back for "tune ups", but Cassie is doing so well now that the change from session to session is less noticeable than it was initially.

Lori is highly competent, professional, and genuinely compassionate. In contrast to my traditional experiences with vets, Lori focuses on the whole animal, not just areas of concern. I have seen this emphasis reflected in my dog's response to Lori's work with her. If you looked at Cassie now, you would not see a 14-year-old dog with problematic body parts. She is a different dog than she was a year ago, and she is as lively, alert, interactive, and engaged in this life as I hope to be when I am her age."

Seattle Dog Walker"Thanks again for all the information you provided in your TTouch workshop. I wanted to let you know that the dog that was having problems with going up the stairs in her home is no longer having hesitation. I passed along the suggestion about using TTouch wraps on her legs, for short periods of time, to make her more aware of them, which the owner did a few times -- and we haven't had problems since! I've also been implementing a number of the TTouch techniques on both my dogs and my clients and have been enjoying the results!

I'm sure we'll bump into each other again, maybe you'll hear a honk buried amongst happy barking while you are out walking!  :)"

Shadow, my beloved 14 year old Black cat, was diagnosed with colon cancer in October, 2010.  A friend recommended Lori to me because her dog had experienced some relief through Lori's work. I think TTouch gave Shadow more energy to face the cancer and work better with the other therapies he was getting--conventional (prednisone) and holistic (acupuncture and herbs).   After his first visit to Lori, Shadow came into the living room and rolled onto his back where he seemed to be in an awesome dream state.  Shadow seemed to enjoy his treatments with Lori and sometimes would tilt his head and look deeply into her eyes.  We can't know exactly what he was saying, but it felt like something profound had transpired.  After the treatment, Shadow was energized and comfortable enough that he would sniff around Lori's basement.  He especially liked (and we enjoyed watching him) exit the treatment table down the ramp that Lori has in place for dogs.  Such cat style!  After Shadow passed away in April, 2011, my regular vet said she had not expected him to last six weeks let alone six months.  I always felt that Shadow wanted to stay around as long as he could and Lori's TTouch definitely helped him do that--for both of us.
